    Questions and answers

    Which hamper holds more laundry?
The Sterilite. It is rated 2.1 bushel, about 18.62 gallons, which is roughly two to three loads. Ebern Designs only lists its cotton hamper as large with no figure.
Which is better for a bathroom?
The Sterilite. Its plastic body and lid resist moisture and odors, and it wipes clean. Cotton absorbs damp towels and smells over time.
Which is easier to carry to the laundry room?
The Sterilite rolls on wheels and has grip handles on all four sides. The Ebern Designs hamper is lighter and folds flat but must be carried by hand.
Does the Ebern Designs hamper have a lid?
No lid is listed. Dirty laundry stays visible and odors are not contained. The Sterilite has a pull-on lid.
Is the Sterilite worth paying more for?
If prices differ, the lid, wheels and larger capacity usually justify a premium for a busy household. Pick the cotton hamper instead if looks and folding flat matter more.
    Which lasts longer?
The Sterilite's reinforced plastic rim should outlast woven cotton, which can sag, stain and tear with heavy loads. Cotton wins only on appearance.
