Is this hamper worth it?

If you want a light, breathable hamper that looks good in a bedroom or bathroom, yes. If you need something rigid with a lid or easy to wipe clean, a plastic or lidded hamper suits you better.

Does the cotton hamper hold its shape?

Only while it is full or lined. The woven cotton is soft, so the sides slump when empty. A stiff liner or a full load keeps it upright.

Will damp towels mildew in it?

Less than in a sealed plastic bin, because woven cotton lets air through. Still, wash and dry the hamper itself now and then to prevent odor.

How do I clean a woven cotton hamper?

Spot clean with mild soap and water and let it air dry fully. Avoid soaking it, since the cotton can lose shape and the tan color can bleed.

What size load does it hold?

It is a large hamper, sized for about a week of laundry for one or two people. Check the listed dimensions before buying if space is tight.

Soft-goods hampers like this tend to drop during seasonal home sales and back-to-school events. Compare store prices and check the price history before buying.
