Are these two the same watch?

Yes. Both are the Garmin Fenix 8, 51 mm, with a 1.4 in AMOLED display, sapphire lens and titanium bezel. The difference is the bezel finish and what ships in the box.

Which has better battery life?

Neither. Both are rated up to 29 days in smartwatch mode, per Garmin's spec for the 51 mm AMOLED model. GPS and always-on display use cut that sharply on either.

Is the DLC coating worth choosing B?

DLC is harder than bare stainless steel, so the carbon gray bezel on B hides scratches better over years of climbing and diving. If you baby the watch, it matters less.

Which is better for diving?

Both are dive-rated to 40 meters and support recreational dive activity. Pick on fit and finish, not dive capability.

Which should I buy at the same price?

Take A if you want the charging dock and dust covers in the box. Take B if you want the darker DLC bezel and more stores to compare.

Does either work with an iPhone?

Yes. Both pair with iPhone and Android over Bluetooth and support Wi-Fi. Calls and voice features work through the built-in speaker and mic when paired to your phone.
