Which is better for a hallway with kids?

The Garvee. It has a non-slip backing and is machine washable, which matters more in a busy hallway than the Safavieh's thicker pile.

The Safavieh, at $24.13 at Home Depot as of November 5, 2026, versus $29.99 at Amazon for the Garvee.

Both are synthetic-heavy and should hold up for years indoors. The Safavieh's thicker polypropylene pile resists crushing, while the Garvee's wool blend can pill or shed with heavy washing.

Is the Safavieh worth the savings?

Yes if you will use a rug pad and do not need machine washing. The $5.86 gap is small, so pick on pattern and care needs, not price.

Does the Safavieh stay in place on its own?

No non-slip backing is stated. Plan on a rug pad, especially on hardwood or tile.

Which pattern suits a neutral room?

The Garvee's brown plaid is quieter. The Safavieh's blue medallion is bolder and reviewers note it can look tonal.
