Which is better for pet messes?

The BISSELL handles bigger pet messes on carpets thanks to steam pretreat and a full-width brush. The Hoover is better for small accidents on stairs, sofas and car seats.

Is the BISSELL worth the extra money?

If you clean whole rooms of carpet regularly, yes. At $299.99 at eBay as of November 4, 2026 it costs about $200 more than the Hoover, so for occasional spots the Hoover is enough.

Can the Hoover clean a whole room?

No. It is a spot cleaner with a 7 in. tool and a 1.25 tank, so a full room means many refills. Use the BISSELL for whole-room cleaning.

The BISSELL. Its Quick Dry Mode is rated at about 30 minutes. The Hoover has no quick-dry mode, so carpets stay damp longer.

The BISSELL carries a 5 year limited warranty. Hoover does not state a warranty term for the CleanSlate in the listing, so the BISSELL has the clearer long-term backing.

Which is easier to carry upstairs?

The Hoover. It is light and compact with a long cord. The BISSELL weighs 22.5 lbs and is an upright.
