Which is better for schoolwork?

The ASUS Chromebook Plus CX34 is the better pick for schoolwork. Its 8GB of RAM and 1080p screen handle docs, video calls and many tabs more comfortably. The HP works for light writing and web research but slows with 4GB.

For most people, yes. At $427.50 versus $273.00 as of November 6, 2026, you get double the RAM, a sharper screen and a lighter 3.2 lb body. Skip it only if you need Windows or want the lowest price.

Which has the better screen?

The ASUS. Its 14-inch panel is 1920x1080, while the HP's 15.6-inch panel is only HD, so the ASUS looks sharper despite being smaller. Both are touchscreens with an anti-glare finish and a 60Hz refresh rate.

Which lasts longer on a charge?

Both are rated at 10 hours. Real runtime depends on screen brightness and workload. The HP adds HP Fast Charge, which tops up the battery faster during a short break.

Do both have enough storage?

Both come with 128GB, which is small for either system. The HP's UFS storage is slower than a typical SSD. Plan on cloud storage or an external drive with either laptop.
