Which is better for a small dog?

The KONG Comfort Kiddos Elephant is sized X-Small for small breeds, so it fits a small mouth better. The Hedgehogz XL is 12 x 9 inches and is a lot of toy for a small dog to carry.

Neither is a chew toy. The Hedgehogz has minimal seams to reduce tearing, which helps with dogs that tug, but rough play still needs supervision on both.

Is the Hedgehogz worth it over the KONG?

It costs less, $7.99 at Firehouse Pet Shop as of November 4, 2026, versus $8.49 at Wilco as of November 4, 2026, and gives you two noisemakers and a much bigger toy. Pick the KONG only if you want the removable squeaker or a small size.

The KONG has a single low-tone squeaker you can remove. The Hedgehogz XL adds a grunter, so it makes more noise.

Are either safe for a strong chewer?

No. KONG lists the Comfort Kiddos as not a chew toy, and Outward Hound advises supervised play for dogs that play rough. Look at rubber chew toys instead.

Which has more stores selling it?

The KONG, with 7 stores pricing it new as of November 4, 2026, against 5 for the Hedgehogz.
