Is the KONG Comfort Kiddos Elephant safe for a puppy to chew?

It is a plush toy, not a chew toy. It suits gentle chewers and supervised play. Take it away once seams open or the squeaker is exposed.

Can I remove the squeaker?

Is $8.49 a good price?
