Is the 65-inch worth the extra over the 55-inch?

Only if you sit far enough back to notice the size. At about 8 feet or more, the 65-inch fills more of your view. Closer than that, the 55-inch looks just as sharp and saves about $314.

Do they have the same picture quality?

Yes. Both use the LG OLED evo C4 panel with the Alpha 9 Gen7 processor, 4K at 120 Hz, Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos. The difference is screen size, not image quality.

Which is better for gaming?

Both have four HDMI 2.1 ports, VRR and G-Sync. The 55-inch listing adds up to 144 Hz and a 0.1 ms response time, which matters only if you use a PC. Console games cap at 120 Hz on both.

Neither has a published lifespan advantage; they use the same panel technology. LG's webOS Re:New program promises 5 years of software updates on the C4 line.

How far should I sit from each?

About 6 to 7 feet works for the 55-inch, and about 8 feet or more suits the 65-inch. Measure your room before choosing.

Both have swung widely. The 65-inch hit $649.99 on November 1, 2026, and the 55-inch hit $630.43 on October 30, 2026. Set a price alert rather than buying at the first price you see.
