Questions and answers

Which is better for a bright living room?
The TCL QM8L. Its Mini-LED backlight is rated up to 6,000 nits and the set is built for full sun. The G6 is bright for an OLED but cannot match that.
Which has better picture quality?
The LG G6 for contrast and black levels, since each pixel turns off individually. The QM8L wins on brightness and color punch, though ZDNET placed it third in color accuracy tests.
Is the LG G6 worth the extra money?
Only if you watch in a dark room and value deep blacks and Dolby Vision. At $1,996.99 versus $608.43, the TCL costs about a third as much.
Which is better for gaming?
The TCL QM8L has a 144 Hz native panel versus 120 Hz on the G6. Both support VRR, and CNET calls the QM8L better for gaming.
Which lasts longer?
Neither has a published lifespan. OLED panels can develop burn-in from static logos over years; LED sets do not have that risk but can develop backlight issues.
Should I wait for the G6 to drop again?
It hit $1,565.87 on October 30, 2026, well below the current $1,996.99. If you are not in a hurry, tracking its price history is reasonable.
