The Mainstays 1.5 bushel suits a single person's laundry and stacks out of the way when empty. The Sterilite also works for a dorm but takes more space.

Is the Sterilite worth the extra?

At $24.87 at Walmart as of November 8, 2026, it buys 0.5 bushel more capacity plus four grip handles and a reinforced rim. If you wash for more than one person, that is worth it.

Do both have handles on all sides?

Yes. The Mainstays has grip surfaces on all four sides, and the Sterilite has four integrated comfort grip handles in the rim.

Which one stacks when empty?

The Mainstays is described as stacking neatly with other baskets. Sterilite does not state a stacking feature for this basket.
