Which set is cheaper?

The Midwest 182 set. It is $13.66 at Amazon as of November 6, 2026, against $33.99 for the black set at Amazon on the same date.

Which is better for a messy ferret?

The black set, because its waterproof bottom layer stops moisture reaching the tray. The Midwest set lists fleece only, with no waterproof backing.

Do both fit a Double Ferret Nation cage?

Yes. Both are made for double unit Ferret Nation and Critter Nation cages, and both include a top liner with a cutout for the ramp opening.

Which stays in place better?

The Midwest set uses plastic snaps. The black set uses a stretchy elastic bottom and hook-and-loop ramp covers. Snaps resist a ferret tugging better; elastic is faster to change.

Does the Midwest set include ramp covers?

Yes, three. The black set's listing does not state how many pieces it includes.

Is the black set worth the extra money?

Only if you need the waterproof layer and elastic fit. Otherwise the Midwest set gives you more pieces for less than half the price.
