Milwaukee M18 6-Tool Combo Kit 2696-26 vs Milwaukee M18 4-Tool Combo Kit 3693-24CX

The 3693-24CX is the better kit for most shoppers. Its brushless motors, compact hammer drill and 3-speed impact driver give more control and longer run time, and owners rate it 4.5 out of 5. The 2696-26 wins on breadth: six tools including an angle grinder, work light and reciprocating saw, but its brushed motors are older tech and it weighs 41.5 lb. Buy the 3693-24CX for core drilling and driving; buy the 2696-26 only if you need the grinder and light in one bag.

• Choose the 2696-26 if you want six tools in one kit, including an angle grinder, work light and reciprocating saw, and you do not mind brushed motors.
• Choose the 3693-24CX if you want a compact brushless hammer drill and 3-speed impact driver for tight spaces and overhead work, with better run time.
