Questions and answers
- Is the OLED worth the extra over the V2?
- For about $25 more you get an OLED screen, double the storage and a full dock and Joy-Con set. That is worth it unless you already own those parts.
- Can I play the same games on both?
- Yes. Both play the same Switch game cards and downloads, and both output up to 1080p at 60 fps on a TV.
- Does the V2 include a dock and controllers?
- No. The V2 listing is console only, so budget for a dock, Joy-Con and a USB-C charger if you do not have them.
- Which has better battery life?
- They are close. Nintendo rates both at roughly 4.5 to 9 hours depending on the game.
- Which is better for handheld play?
- The OLED. Its 7-inch OLED screen and wider stand make handheld and tabletop play noticeably better.
- Which lasts longer?
- Both use the same battery type and similar capacity, so lifespan depends on use. The OLED's larger storage means less reliance on a microSD card.
