Which is better for playing physical games?

The PS5 Slim Disc. It has a Blu-ray drive, so it plays disc games and movies. The Digital model cannot read discs at all.

Is the Digital model worth the higher price?

Not on price alone. At $748.39 at Best Buy as of November 8, 2026, it costs more than the Disc model's $530 to $599 range since November 6, 2026. Pick it only if you want the lighter build and never use discs.

Do both have the same storage and performance?

Yes. Both have a 1 TB SSD, 4K output up to 120fps, ray tracing, and a DualSense controller. The drive is the main hardware difference.

Which one lasts longer?

Both carry a 1 year warranty and the same internal hardware. The Disc model adds a disc drive, which is one more part that can wear out, but the core console should last the same.

Can I add a disc drive to the Digital model later?

Sony sells a separate Ultra HD Blu-ray disc drive for the slim PS5, so the Digital model can be upgraded. That adds cost, so check the drive price before deciding.

Which is better for a 4K TV?

Both. Each supports 4K output and up to 120fps with 120Hz output, so the TV experience is the same. The choice comes down to discs and price.
