Which is better for a tall user?

The ProForm. Its stride adjusts to 19 inches, while the MERACH is fixed at 16.5 inches. Taller users usually feel cramped on shorter strides.

Is the ProForm worth about $519 more?

If you want a longer stride, a color console, and iFIT classes, yes. If you just want quiet low-impact cardio, the MERACH covers that for far less.

Both use magnetic resistance. MERACH rates its machine under 20 dB, and ProForm markets its Silent Magnetic Resistance as whisper-quiet. Neither figure is independently verified.

Which holds more weight?

The MERACH, rated to 350 lb. ProForm does not publish a max user weight for the Carbon EL, so check with the seller before buying if you are heavy.

Do I need a subscription?

Only for the ProForm's iFIT content, which includes a 30-day trial. The MERACH has no subscription and runs a basic battery-powered console.

Which takes less space?

The MERACH. It measures about 48.5 by 42 by 29 cm and is the smaller, lighter machine. The ProForm has front transport wheels for moving it.
