Which is better for a cruise cabin?

Either one. Both are built to major cruise line policies, with no surge protection and a flat plug. Pick whichever is cheaper; Product B is $32.99 at Amazon as of November 4, 2026.

Do these protect against power surges?

No. Both are designed without surge protection. If you need surge protection for a TV or desktop, buy a surge-protected strip instead.

How fast do the USB ports charge?

The four USB ports share 5V/4A, about 20W total. One phone charges at a normal speed; four devices at once charge slowly.

Is the $2 difference worth it?

No for the product itself, since the specs match. Pay the extra only if you want Product A's second store as a backup or its named model and manufacturer for warranty claims.

Will the plug fit behind a sofa?

Yes. Both have a 0.31-inch flat plug set at 45 degrees, so the cord runs flat against the wall and the second wall socket stays free.

How long is each side of the split?

6 ft per side, 12 ft total, on both products. That reaches from a wall outlet to both ends of a sofa or bed.
