Are these the same drive?

On paper yes: both are 8TB WD Red Plus, 5640 RPM, 256MB cache, CMR, 3.5-inch SATA. Product B names a model number and A does not, so confirm the exact model before buying.

Which is better for a NAS?

Either, if the model number is on your NAS maker's supported-drive list. B states the model up front, which makes that check easier.

Is A worth the savings?

A saves $15.99 at the latest prices ($299.00 versus $314.99 as of November 5, 2026). Take it only if the store confirms the model number you need.

How long do these drives last?

B is rated for 180TB per year of workload; A states no rating. Real lifespan depends on workload, temperature and RAID setup, and RAID is not a backup.

Do I need an enclosure?

Yes. Both are internal 3.5-inch SATA drives. A USB connection needs a separate compatible enclosure.

Which has more store choice?

B, with 9 stores pricing it new versus 6 for A as of November 5, 2026.
