Are these two the same drive?

Yes. Product A's description names WD80EFPX, which is Product B. Treat them as one drive and buy the cheaper listing.

Which is better for a home NAS?

Either one. Both are 8TB CMR 5400 RPM SATA drives built for NAS use. Check your NAS maker's supported-drive list for WD80EFPX before buying.

Is B worth the lower price?

Yes, at $289.99 versus $314.99 as of November 5, 2026, B saves $25 for the same drive. Confirm the seller and warranty terms on the eBay listing.

They should be identical. A states a 180TB/year workload rating; B does not state one, but the WD80EFPX spec carries the same Red Plus rating.

Can I use either in a RAID array?

Yes. Both are CMR drives, which matters for RAID rebuilds. RAID is not a backup, so keep a separate copy of important data.

Do I need an enclosure?

Yes if you want USB. Both are internal 3.5-inch SATA drives and need a NAS bay or a separate enclosure.
