About the Velowave Ghost 500 Electric Bike

The Velowave Ghost 500 is a hardtail commuter and adventure e-bike built on a 6061 aluminum frame with 27.5-inch Kenda tires and front suspension. It pairs a 500W geared rear hub motor with a 48V 15Ah LG battery (624Wh) and offers both throttle and pedal-assist riding. Mechanical disc brakes handle stopping, and the larger frame and 27.5-inch wheels suit taller riders. The best new price is $1,299 at e-Wheels Warehouse as of November 4, 2026, and only one store lists it new, so there is little price competition to shop around.

    • Questions and answers

Is the Ghost 500 worth $1,299?
At $1,299 you get a 500W motor, a 624Wh LG battery and an aluminum frame with front suspension, which is competitive for a commuter e-bike. With only one store listing it new, check the price again before buying.
How far can it go on a charge?
The 624Wh battery is mid-sized for this class. Expect roughly 25 to 45 miles depending on assist level, throttle use, rider weight and terrain; throttle-only riding cuts range sharply.
Is it fast enough for commuting?
The 500W rear hub motor with pedal assist is aimed at Class 2-style speeds around 20 mph. It handles flat commutes well but is not built for steep, sustained climbs.
Will it fit a tall rider?
Velowave positions the Ghost 500 for taller riders, and the 27.5-inch wheels add standover height. Check the frame size and standover measurement against your inseam before ordering.
    What comes in the box?
The bike ships with the charger included, plus the battery, motor and assembled major components. Expect to finish assembly of the front wheel, handlebars and pedals yourself.
When is the best time to buy?
E-bike prices tend to drop around Black Friday, holiday sales and end-of-season clearance. With a single new listing at $1,299 as of November 4, 2026, watch for a seasonal markdown.
