About the CALIA 5mm Dry Grip Yoga Mat

The CALIA 5mm Dry Grip Yoga Mat is a standard-size mat (68 by 24 inches) with a textured, reversible surface built for sweaty, high-movement sessions. The 5mm blended cushioning is a middle ground: enough for knees and wrists in hot yoga, thin enough to keep balance poses stable. It is spot-clean only, so it is not a mat to throw in the washer. At $23.37 at DICK'S Sporting Goods as of November 7, 2026, it sits at the low end of what a textured 5mm mat usually costs.

    Questions and answers

Is this mat good for hot yoga?
Yes, it is marketed for hot yoga and intense sessions, and the textured dry-grip surface is designed for sweaty hands. Expect it to feel slick at first until the surface is broken in.
How thick is it compared with other yoga mats?
It is 5mm, which is mid-range: more cushion than a 3mm travel mat, less than a 6mm or 8mm comfort mat. It suits balance work but not sensitive knees.
    Can I machine wash it?
No. CALIA says to spot clean with mild soap and water and air dry. Do not put it in a washer or dryer.
    How big is the mat?
It is 68 inches long and 24 inches wide, a standard size that fits most adults, including taller users.
    Is it reversible?
Yes, it has two patterned sides and can be used either way up.
    When is it cheapest?
The best new price seen is $23.37 at DICK'S Sporting Goods as of November 7, 2026, with three stores listing it new. Yoga mats often drop during January and back-to-school sales.
