Is the ASUS XG27ACDMS worth it at $399.99?

At $399.99 at Best Buy as of November 7, 2026, it is one of the cheaper 27-inch OLED gaming monitors. You get 280Hz, QHD and OLED contrast for well under most rivals.

Is 280Hz overkill for a 1440p monitor?

Only if your GPU cannot push high frame rates. For fast shooters it helps, but a mid-range card may not reach 280fps at 1440p.

Does it work with a PS5 or Xbox Series X?

Yes, over HDMI. Consoles cap at 120Hz, so you will not use the full 280Hz, but you still get OLED contrast and low lag.

Can I connect a laptop over USB-C?

Yes, it has a USB-C input. Check that your laptop supports DisplayPort over USB-C for video.

Should I worry about burn-in?

QD-OLED is more resistant than early OLED, but static taskbars and logos still carry some risk. Use screen dimming and pixel-shift features for desktop work.

It is at $399.99 now, near the low end of its recent range. Holiday sales are the most likely time for a further drop.
