Is the HP 17.3-inch Ryzen 5 laptop good for everyday use?

Yes for browsing, email, video and office work. The six-core Ryzen 5 and 1080p screen handle those well. It is not built for gaming or heavy editing.

Can I upgrade the RAM and storage?

HP 17-inch models of this class usually have accessible memory and M.2 slots, but confirm the exact configuration before buying. Adding RAM and a larger SSD fixes the two most common complaints.

Is 8GB of RAM enough?

For light use, yes. With many browser tabs, large spreadsheets or photo editing, 8GB runs out quickly, and this laptop ships with DDR4.

How does it compare with a 15.6-inch laptop?

The 17.3-inch screen is noticeably bigger and still only 4.6 lb, but it is bulkier to carry. If it stays on a desk, the size is a plus.

Does it have a dedicated graphics card?

No. Graphics are integrated AMD Radeon, so it suits video playback and light games only.

The best new price was $469.99 at eBay as of November 7, 2026, with three stores pricing it new. Watch for holiday sales, when big-screen budget laptops usually dip.
