About the Tag Gateway 3.0 3-Piece Hardside Spinner Luggage Set

The Tag Gateway 3.0 is a three-piece ABS hardside spinner set with a glossy finish, eight-wheel 360-degree spinners and retractable push-button handles. The 24-inch check-in measures 24 by 17 by 9.9 inches outside, and the small upright weighs 8 lbs. ABS is the budget shell material here, so expect scuffs and less flex than polycarbonate. It is a low-cost starter set rather than a buy-it-for-life purchase.

ABS shell cracks and scuffs more than polycarbonate
  • 24-inch case is only 9.9 inches deep, so packing space is tight
  • No expander zipper on most Gateway 3.0 cases
  • Glossy finish shows scratches quickly
  • 3.2 out of 5 from 450 ratings is a weak owner score

    • What reviewers say

    • 3.3 / 512 ratings

Owner feedback is mixed, averaging 3.2 out of 5 from 450 ratings. People like the light weight and easy rolling for the price, but durability complaints come up often.

    Pros
    • Smooth 360-degree spinner wheels
    • Light enough to lift into overhead bins and trunks
    • Good value for a three-case set
    • Nests compactly for storage
    Cons
    • Shells crack or dent after a few flights
    • Handles feel flimsy when fully extended
    • Scratches show on the glossy finish
    • Zippers and wheels reported as weak points

    Questions and answers

Is the Tag Gateway 3.0 set worth it?
For light, occasional travel at a low price, yes. If you fly often or check bags on rough routes, spend more on polycarbonate or a warranty-backed brand.
What sizes are in the set?
It is a three-piece nesting set with a small upright and larger check-in cases; the 24-inch case measures 24 by 17 by 9.9 inches outside. Confirm the exact size mix on the listing before buying.
    Is ABS hardside luggage durable?
ABS is rigid and cheap but less impact-resistant than polycarbonate or aluminum. It handles car trips and careful handling well; repeated checked-bag abuse is where it fails.
    Does it have spinner wheels?
Yes. All cases use an eight-wheel, multi-directional 360-degree spinner system with retractable push-button handles.
How much does the set weigh?
Total weight is 24 lbs, and the small upright is 8 lbs empty. That leaves reasonable airline weight allowance for contents.
    When is it cheapest?
Luggage sets like this tend to drop during back-to-school and Black Friday sales. Check the price history chart before buying.
