Is the Samsonite Mobile Solution Expandable Spinner worth it?

It suits travelers who want a soft-sided carry-on with a built-in TSA lock and expansion. At $160.00 at Distritech as of October 28, 2026, it is a reasonable price for a spinner with those features, though lighter carry-ons exist.

How much does it expand?

The zippered expansion adds about 1.5 inches of depth. That gives extra room for souvenirs or a bulky layer, but the expanded bag may not fit some airline sizers.

It measures 22.5 by 14.5 by 10 inches, which fits most major US airline carry-on limits. Check your airline's sizer before flying, especially if you expand it.

Does it have a TSA lock?

Yes. A TSA-approved lock is built in, so security agents can open it without cutting the zipper pulls.

How heavy is it empty?

It weighs 9.5 lbs empty, which is on the heavy side for a carry-on. Packing light keeps the total weight manageable.

The listing is for a single piece, the carry-on spinner itself. No packing cubes or accessories are included.
