Is a hand-knotted rug worth the price over a machine-made one?

Hand-knotted rugs are woven knot by knot and typically last decades, while machine-made rugs are cheaper but wear faster. At $3,528, the Emray costs far more than a machine-made rug of the same size, so the value depends on how long you plan to keep it.

Will a 12 by 14 ft rug fit my room?

A 12 by 14 ft rug covers most of a large living room, leaving a border of bare floor around the edges. Measure your seating area first; in a smaller room it will reach close to the walls.

What size rug pad does it need?

Use a pad sized for a 12 by 14 ft rug, trimmed an inch short on each side. A pad protects the knots, keeps the rug from sliding and adds cushioning underfoot.

How should I clean a hand-knotted rug?

Vacuum without a beater bar and blot spills right away. Have it professionally washed every few years; never machine wash or steam-clean it.

Is the price likely to drop?

Only one store lists it new, at $3,528 at Sabera Rugs as of November 8, 2026, so there is no competing price to compare. Hand-knotted rugs rarely see deep discounts, and stock is often limited.

What is the return policy on a rug this size?

Check the store's return window and whether return shipping is covered before ordering. A 12 by 14 ft rug is expensive to ship back, so confirm the color and size first.

About the Sabera Rugs Emray Hand-Knotted Persian Rug

The Emray is a 12 by 14 foot hand-knotted Persian-style rug from Sabera Rugs, sized for a large living room or dining space. Hand-knotting means a dense, long-lasting pile, but it also means a heavy rug that needs a proper pad and careful cleaning. At $3,528 at Sabera Rugs as of November 8, 2026, it is the only new price listed, so there is no recent range to compare it against.
