Questions and answers

Is the Samsung S85FD worth it at $1,285.95?

At $1,285.95 at Connection as of November 7, 2026, it is one of the cheaper ways to get a 77-inch OLED. If you watch in a dim room and want a big screen, it is a strong buy; if your room is very bright, a brighter QD-OLED or mini-LED set may suit you better.

How does the S85FD compare with Samsung's S90 series?

The S90 series uses a QD-OLED panel with higher brightness and richer color volume. The S85FD trades some of that brightness for a lower price, while keeping the 4K resolution, 120Hz motion and smart features.

Does it support Dolby Vision?

No. It supports HDR10 and HDR10+, but not Dolby Vision, so Dolby Vision content plays in HDR10 instead.

What is in the box?

You get the TV, the stand parts, a remote and the power cable. Check the specific listing for stand and wall-mount inclusion, since some sellers ship the panel only.

Is 77 inches too big for an average living room?

For a seating distance of about 8 to 10 feet, 77 inches is comfortable and immersive. In a smaller room, a 65-inch model will feel less overwhelming.

When is it cheapest?

Large OLED TVs usually drop around Black Friday and during spring clearance, when new models arrive. Track the price history here to see how $1,285.95 compares with past lows.
