Is the Tumi Alpha Bravo Wheeled Carry-On Duffel worth $477?

If you fly often and want one bag that rolls and still opens like a duffel, the build quality justifies the price for many owners. If you only travel a few times a year, a cheaper soft duffel does the same job.

Does it fit in an overhead bin?

Yes. It is sized as a carry-on and owners report it fits overhead bins on most major airlines. Check your airline's exact limits, since regional jets are tighter.

How many wheels does it have?

It has two recessed wheels and a telescoping handle, not four spinner wheels. It rolls well when tilted but will not stand stable on its own.

Tumi's ballistic nylon with leather trim, the same material family used across the Alpha Bravo line. It is water-resistant but not waterproof.

When is the best time to buy it?

Tumi runs seasonal sales, and the price has been $477 at TUMI as of November 5, 2026. Watch for markdowns around major holiday sales.
