    Questions and answers

Is the Ampex 3P good for three adults?
It fits three, but the 44-inch peak height and 90-inch length suit average-height campers better. Three large adults will feel it.
    How does it handle rain?
The rainfly is full coverage with sealed seams, and the floor is rated to 1,200mm. That floor rating is modest, so use the included footprint on wet ground.
    What comes in the box?
The tent body, footprint, main pole assembly, ridge pole, 14 stakes and 6 guylines.
    How much does it weigh?
Trail weight is 3 lb 12.9 oz (1.73 kg). It packs to 6 inches.
Can it stand up to wind?
Ampex rates it to 40 mph with the guylines pitched. Stake it out fully in exposed campsites.
    Is $199.99 a good price?
It is the only new price listed as of November 6, 2026, so there is no recent range to compare. Judge it against other three-person tents that include a footprint.
