Our take on the Ampex Codazzi 1 Person Backpacking Tent

The Ampex Codazzi is a one-person, three-season backpacking tent with a rectangular floor and aluminum poles. It is unusually light at 2 lb packed, helped by thin 10D and 15D nylon fabrics and a 17 x 6 in stuff sack. The floor is rated to 1,200mm, which is modest for wet weather. The best new price is $99.99 at Academy Sports + Outdoors as of November 4, 2026, and 4 stores sell it new.

Is the Ampex Codazzi worth it at $99.99?
At $99.99 at Academy Sports + Outdoors as of November 4, 2026, it is a low-cost way to get a 2 lb aluminum-pole tent. If you camp in heavy rain, budget for a footprint or a thicker groundsheet.

When is it cheapest?
