Is this a good first keyboard for a 3-year-old?

Yes, as a toy. It has 31 keys, a microphone and simple controls, and the maker recommends it for ages 3 to 8. It will not teach technique, so plan on a real keyboard later if the child sticks with it.

Does it need batteries or a plug?

It runs on 4 AA alkaline batteries, which are not included. There is no AC adapter listed, so budget for rechargeables if it gets daily use.

Is the microphone included?

Yes, the set includes a microphone. It is a toy mic, so expect low volume and some feedback at high settings.

Is $42.99 a good price?

Only 2 stores list it new, and $42.99 at eBay as of November 4, 2026 is the best of them. With so few sellers there is little room to save, so compare the other listing before buying.

How big is it and does it need assembly?

Assembly is required, typically attaching the legs or stand. Check the listing for the assembled dimensions before you commit to a spot in the playroom.

The maker recommends 3 to 8 years. Younger toddlers may bang rather than play, and older kids will outgrow the toy sound quickly.
