Is $42 a good price for this desk?

Yes. A desk with five drawers and a file cabinet rarely sells this low. The $42 at eBay as of November 7, 2026 is well under typical pricing for comparable desks.

Can the drawers go on either side?

Yes. The desk is reversible, so you build the drawer pedestal on the left or the right to suit your room.

Does the file cabinet hold letter-size files?

It is designed as a filing drawer for standard hanging files. Check the drawer's interior width before buying if you use legal-size folders.

How hard is assembly?

Expect a few hours. The reversible design means more parts, and buyers report thin panels that need careful handling during the build.

What are the dimensions?

The desktop is 51 inches wide. Height and depth vary by listing, so confirm them before you buy if space is tight.

Our take on the 17 Stories 51" Reversible Computer Desk with 5 Drawers and File Cabinet

A 51-inch wood-top computer desk with five drawers and a built-in file cabinet. The reversible design lets you set the drawer pedestal on either side, which helps in tight rooms. At $42 at eBay as of November 7, 2026, it sits far below what a desk with a file cabinet and five drawers usually costs, so it is a budget pick rather than a furniture-grade one.
