Question 1

Is a hobby box worth it over retail?

Accepted Answer

Yes if you want the guaranteed autograph or relic and hobby-only parallels. Retail blasters are cheaper but give no guaranteed hit and thinner parallel odds.

Question 2

How does it differ from Series 1 and Series 2?

Accepted Answer

Update covers players who changed teams, late call-ups and All-Stars, so it completes the flagship set. The autograph checklist is generally lighter than the earlier series.

Question 3

How many cards come in a box?

Accepted Answer

A hobby box has 24 packs of 12 cards, 288 cards total, with one autograph or relic guaranteed.

Question 4

Is $145 a good price?

Accepted Answer

It is the best new price among 7 stores as of November 4, 2026. Hobby boxes of Update usually sit in the $120 to $160 range, so $145 is fair but not a bargain.

Question 5

When is it cheapest?

Accepted Answer

Prices usually soften a few months after release and again after the season ends, when attention moves to the next year's product.

Question 6

What is in the box?

Accepted Answer

24 packs of 12 cards, one autograph or relic, and the base set plus inserts and parallels. Team and player content varies by pack.
