Questions and answers

Is the DB8621S worth it at $339.99?
At $339.99 at Amazon as of November 5, 2026, it is a reasonable price for a 21-inch self-propelled mower with a steel deck. Comparable rear-wheel-drive gas mowers often cost more. Check the price history before buying, since 5 stores list it new.
Does it have electric start?
No. It uses a pull-cord start only, so you need to pull to start the 170cc engine every time.
What is included in the box?
You get the mower, a 60L rear grass bag and a side-discharge chute. Mulching uses the plug in the deck. Oil and gas are not included.
How steep a slope can it handle?
Rear-wheel drive gives it better traction than front-wheel mowers on mild to moderate slopes. Avoid mowing steep hills where footing is unsure.
How often should I change the oil?
Change the oil after the first 5 hours, then every 50 hours or once a season. Check the oil level before each use.
When is it cheapest?
Gas mowers usually drop in late summer and early fall as stores clear inventory. Watch the price history around August and September.
