Our take on the ABTSalon Motion Sensor Bathroom Trash Can, Slim Automatic Lid Wastebasket, IPX5 Waterproof

The ABTSalon Motion Sensor Bathroom Trash Can is a slim 2-gallon touchless wastebasket with a plastic body and an IPX5 water-resistant rating. Its 5.5-inch width is meant to tuck into tight bathroom spaces, and the motion sensor opens the lid without a foot pedal. At $45.99 at Wayfair as of November 5, 2026, it is the only new price listed, so there is no recent range to compare it against.

Questions and answers

Is 2 gallons big enough for a bathroom?
Yes for a bathroom or powder room, where trash is mostly tissues and small items. A busy family bathroom may need emptying every few days.
Does the sensor work in a small, dark bathroom?
Motion sensors generally work in low light, which suits a bathroom at night. Placement matters: keep it out of the direct path of a swinging door so the lid does not open on its own.
Is it really waterproof?
IPX5 means it resists water jets and splashes, not submersion. It is fine next to a sink or shower, but do not dunk it or leave it in standing water.
What batteries does it take?
Most touchless cans of this type run on AA batteries, but the listing does not state the count or type. Check the package contents before buying.
Is $45.99 a good price?
It is the only new price listed as of November 5, 2026, so there is no recent range to judge against. Similar 2-gallon sensor cans often sell for $30 to $50.
Does it come with a liner or bags?
The listing does not say a liner is included. Plan on small 2-gallon or standard bathroom bags.
Where is the ABTSalon Motion Sensor Bathroom Trash Can, Slim Automatic Lid Wastebasket, IPX5 Waterproof cheapest?
At Wayfair, for $45.99, as of our latest check.
