Our take on the ACEMAGIC M1A PRO+ AI Mini PC Ryzen AI Max+ 395 128GB

The ACEMAGIC M1A PRO+ is a compact desktop built around AMD's Ryzen AI Max+ 395, a 16-core chip with integrated Radeon graphics and a dedicated AI engine. Its headline feature is 128GB of unified memory, which the integrated GPU can address directly, letting a small box run large local AI models. That is workstation-class memory in a mini PC, and it is the main reason to consider it. No current price was supplied for this page, so check the live comparison before deciding.

What reviewers say

The Ryzen AI Max+ 395 platform has drawn attention for putting very large unified memory into small machines. Owners of similar Strix Halo mini PCs praise local AI performance and quiet operation at light loads, but note fan noise and throttling under sustained heavy work.

Pros
  • Runs large local AI models that need far more than 16GB of VRAM
  • Compact size for the compute it delivers
  • Strong multi-core CPU performance
Cons
  • Fans get loud under sustained load
  • Sustained performance drops versus short bursts
  • High price once 128GB of memory is included

Questions and answers

Is 128GB of memory actually useful?
Yes, if you run large local AI models. The unified memory can be shared with the integrated GPU, so models that would overflow a 16GB or 24GB graphics card can fit. For everyday browsing and office work it is far more than you need.
Can it play games?
It can run modern games at 1080p with moderate settings, but the integrated Radeon graphics are well behind a discrete desktop GPU. Treat gaming as a side use, not the reason to buy.
How does it compare with a Mac mini or Mac Studio?
Apple's unified memory machines are the closest rivals for local AI work. The M1A PRO+ runs Windows and x86 software, while Apple Silicon offers stronger performance per watt. Choose based on the software you need.
What comes in the box?
Expect the mini PC itself, a power adapter and a quick-start guide. A monitor, keyboard and mouse are not included, and check whether a VESA mount is bundled before you plan a monitor-mounted setup.
When is the best time to buy?
Mini PCs with new chips usually see their first meaningful discounts during major sales events and when a successor launches. Track the price history here and buy when it dips below the recent average.
