Is the Acer Chromebook Plus 514 CBE594-3T good for students?

Yes for browser-based schoolwork: it has a 14-inch touchscreen, a backlit keyboard and weighs 3.1 lb. It is a poor fit for majors that need Windows-only software.

Can I upgrade the RAM or storage?

The 8 GB LPDDR5X memory is soldered, so RAM is not upgradable. The 256 GB SSD is a standard M.2 PCIe Gen 4 drive, but Chrome OS makes swapping it impractical for most buyers.

How long does the battery last?

Acer rates it at up to 15 hours. Real-world use with the touchscreen and Wi-Fi on will be shorter, so expect closer to a full school or work day.

Does it have a headphone jack and HDMI?

Yes, it has an HDMI port and a 3.5 mm headphone jack, plus Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4. Charging is over USB-C.

What comes in the box?

The Chromebook, its lithium polymer battery, a power adapter and a power cord. No stylus or sleeve is included.

It is the best new price among 8 stores as of November 7, 2026. Compare it with other 8 GB Chromebook Plus models before buying, since RAM is fixed.
