Is an adjustable bed base worth $2,199?

That price is high for a base, but it buys a 650 lb capacity and a low 3.5 inch frame that replaces a box spring. Compare it with mass-market adjustable bases, which often cost less but carry lower weight limits.

Do I need a box spring with it?

No. It sits on a slat support system and does not need a box spring. You place your mattress directly on the base.

What size mattress fits it?

The base is 59 inches wide and 79.5 inches long, which is standard queen size. A queen mattress fits it.

How much weight can it hold?

The rated capacity is 650 lbs, including the mattress and anyone lying on it.

Is it cheaper at other stores?

Room & Board is the only store listing it new at $2,199 as of November 4, 2026. There is no second new price to compare, so watch for sales at Room & Board itself.

Does the mattress come with it?

No. The price covers the adjustable base only. You supply the mattress.
