Our take on the Alden Design Pre-lit Pencil 6FT 250 LED

The Alden Design Pre-lit Pencil 6FT 250 LED is a slim, PVC artificial Christmas tree with 250 built-in LED lights. Its narrow pencil profile suits tight corners, entryways and small rooms where a full-width tree won't fit. At $79.99 at Walmart as of November 8, 2026, it is the only new price listed, so there is no recent range to compare it against.

Best forSmall apartments and tight cornersEntryways and narrow hallwaysShoppers who want lights built inSecond or accent tree
Pros
  • Slim pencil shape fits where a full tree won't
  • 250 LEDs are pre-strung, so no separate light strings
  • 6 ft height gives presence without a wide footprint
  • PVC needles keep it affordable and light to move
Cons
  • PVC rather than realistic PE needles
  • 250 lights is modest for a 6 ft tree, so it reads sparser
  • No recent price history to judge whether $79.99 is a good deal
  • Pencil trees hold fewer ornaments than full-width trees

Questions and answers

Is $79.99 a good price for this tree?
It is the only new price listed, $79.99 at Walmart as of November 8, 2026. With no other stores or recent history to compare, there is no evidence it is a discount or a markup.
How wide is a 6 ft pencil tree?
Pencil trees typically run about 1.5 to 2 ft across at the base, far narrower than a full 6 ft tree. That is what lets it fit in corners and hallways.
Are the lights replaceable?
Pre-lit trees usually have LED bulbs that are not user-replaceable; if a strand fails, the section typically needs rewiring or replacement. Check the box for the light warranty.
Can it be used outdoors?
No. PVC pre-lit trees are built for indoor use; moisture and sun degrade the needles and wiring.
How long does setup take?
Expect 20 to 40 minutes to unfold and shape the branches. The lights are already attached, so no stringing is needed.
Where is the Alden Design Pre-lit Pencil 6FT 250 LED cheapest?
At Walmart, for $79.99, as of our latest check.
