Is the Costway 4.5 ft pencil tree good for a small apartment?

Yes. Its narrow pencil shape and 4.5-foot height suit corners, entryways and small rooms. It won't fill a large living room the way a 7-foot full tree would.

Are the lights already on the tree?

Yes. The tree comes pre-lit with 150 bulbs, so you don't need to string lights yourself. Check the bulbs and connections before decorating in case any shifted in shipping.

What does a white Christmas tree look like decorated?

White trees read as frosted or modern. Red, silver, blue and gold ornaments pop against white, while white ornaments tend to blend in.

How does a pencil tree compare to a full tree?

A pencil tree is much narrower, so it takes less floor space but holds fewer ornaments and looks sparser up close. Choose it for tight spots, not as a main centerpiece.

Is $49.99 a good price for this tree?

Michaels lists it at $49.99 as of November 8, 2026, and it is the only new price we have. Pre-lit 4.5-foot pencil trees commonly sell in the $40 to $80 range, so this sits at the low end.

What comes in the box?

Expect the tree sections, hinged branches, the 150 pre-installed lights and a stand. Confirm the stand and any replacement bulbs are included when it arrives.

Our take on the Costway Pre-Lit Hinged Pencil 4.5 ft

The Costway Pre-Lit Hinged Pencil Tree is a 4.5-foot white artificial Christmas tree with 150 pre-installed lights and hinged branches. Its slim pencil profile suits tight corners, entryways and small rooms where a full-width tree won't fit. The white color and built-in lights give it a frosted, modern look out of the box. At $49.99 at Michaels as of November 8, 2026, it is the only new price listed, so there is no recent range to compare against.
