Our take on the Alesis Recital 88-Key Digital Piano

The Alesis Recital is an 88-key digital piano with full-sized semi-weighted keys, adjustable touch response and 128-note polyphony. It packs piano, electric piano, organ, synth and bass sounds with chorus and reverb, plus built-in speakers, a headphone jack and USB-MIDI over USB Type B. At around 15 lbs and 50 inches wide, it is one of the lightest full 88-key boards you can buy. Its best new price is $259.99 at Amazon as of November 3, 2026, and only one store lists it new, so there is little price competition to shop around.

  • 128-note polyphony, generous at this price

Questions and answers

Is the Alesis Recital worth it for a beginner?
Yes, if you want 88 full-sized keys cheaply. It covers the basics for learning, but players serious about piano technique may outgrow the semi-weighted action and want hammer-action keys.
Does it have weighted keys?
The keys are semi-weighted, not fully weighted or hammer-action. They have some resistance and adjustable touch response, but they feel lighter than an acoustic or a weighted digital piano.
Is a sustain pedal included?
No. The piano supports a sustain pedal through its pedal input, but the pedal itself is not in the box, so budget for one.
Can I use headphones with it?
Yes. There is a headphone jack for silent practice, and plugging in headphones mutes the built-in speakers.
Can it connect to a computer or app?
Yes. It has USB Type B MIDI output, so you can record into a DAW or use piano-learning apps over a USB cable. There is no Bluetooth.
When is the best time to buy it?
Only one store lists it new at $259.99 as of November 3, 2026, so there is little price competition. Watch for holiday sales at Amazon, when entry-level keyboards often see small discounts.
Where is the Alesis Recital 88-Key Digital Piano cheapest?
