Our take on the Alexander Home Charlotte Modern Distressed Area Rug, 2' 8" x 7' 6"

The Alexander Home Charlotte is a 2'8" x 7'6" distressed-look area rug, sized for runners and narrow spaces like hallways, entryways and the side of a bed. Its 0.25-inch pile is low enough to clear most doors and sit under furniture, and the faded modern pattern hides dirt and traffic marks better than solid colors. It is rated 4.5 out of 5 from 287 ratings. No current store price was provided, so check the live comparison for where it stands against its recent range.

Questions and answers

Is this rug worth it?
At 4.5 out of 5 from 287 ratings, it is a solid pick if you need a low-pile runner that hides wear. Skip it if you want a plush rug to stand on barefoot.
Will it fit in a hallway?
It measures 2'8" wide by 7'6" long, so it suits most hallways and galley kitchens. Measure your walkway first and leave a few inches of floor visible on each side.
Does it fit under doors?
The pile is 0.25 inch, which clears most interior doors. Check the gap under your door if it is already tight.
Does it need a rug pad?
A pad is not required, but it adds cushioning and keeps the rug from sliding on hardwood or tile. Use a thin pad so the rug stays under doors.
How do I clean it?
Vacuum regularly and blot spills right away. For deeper cleaning, follow the care label or use a professional rug cleaner.
When is it cheapest?
Rug prices often dip during seasonal sales and clearance events. Check the price history on this page to see the recent low before buying.
