Is the Amazon Ember QLED worth it?

It is a reasonable budget 4K QLED if you want Fire TV built in and don't need 120 Hz gaming features. Compare its price with other 50-inch QLED sets before deciding.

Is 60 Hz a problem for gaming?

For casual console play it is fine. For fast shooters or a PS5 or Xbox Series X at high frame rates, a 120 Hz set is a better match.

The listing includes the 50-inch Ember QLED TV and a Fire TV Soundbar. Check the listing for the remote and stand, which are normally included with the TV.

Does it work with Alexa?

Yes. Fire TV supports Alexa voice control through the remote or a compatible Echo device.

How does it compare with the Fire TV Omni?

The Ember uses a QLED panel, which generally gives better color and brightness than the standard Omni LED models. The Omni QLED is the closer comparison.

Amazon-brand TVs typically drop during Prime Day, Black Friday and back-to-school sales. Watch the price history rather than buying at list price.

Our take on the Amazon Ember QLED

The Amazon Ember is a 50-inch 4K QLED Fire TV, Amazon's own-brand set with the Fire TV interface built in. It covers the basics for a budget 4K TV: 3840 x 2160 resolution, HDR support, Wi-Fi and HDMI, and a flat LED panel. The bundle listed on eBay adds a Fire TV Soundbar. No price was given for this listing, so check the current figure against the Ember's usual budget-tier pricing before buying.
