Our take on the Amerisleep AS1 Firm Memory Foam Mattress

The Amerisleep AS1 is the firmest mattress in Amerisleep's all-foam lineup, built for stomach and back sleepers who want a flat, supportive surface. It uses Bio-Pur plant-based memory foam over a Bio-Core base, and Amerisleep markets it as fiberglass-free and non-toxic. The queen measures 60 by 80 inches. The best new price is $849 at Amerisleep as of November 4, 2026, and it is the only new-price listing we track, so there is no lower recent range to compare against.

Pros
  • Firm feel keeps hips and shoulders from sinking out of line
  • Bio-Pur foam is plant-based and breathes better than dense traditional memory foam
  • Fiberglass-free construction
  • All-foam design works on most bed frames, including adjustable bases
  • Simple single-firmness option at a lower price than the AS2 or AS3
Cons
  • Too firm for most side sleepers
  • All-foam build has no coils or edge support, so the perimeter feels soft
  • Only one firmness level in this model
  • Less pressure relief at shoulders and hips than plusher Amerisleep models
  • No cooling gel layer, so very hot sleepers may still notice warmth

Is the Amerisleep AS1 worth it?
If you sleep on your stomach or back and want a firm all-foam bed without fiberglass, the AS1 is a reasonable pick at $849 for a queen at Amerisleep as of November 4, 2026. Side sleepers should look at the softer AS2 or AS3 instead.
How firm is the AS1 compared with the AS2?
The AS1 is Amerisleep's firmest model. The AS2 is a medium-firm feel with more contouring, and the AS3 is softer still, so the AS1 suits sleepers who want the least sink.
