Our take on the Amerisun 21-Inch 144cc 3-in-1 Gas Push Lawn Mower AM8721P

The Amerisun AM8721P is a 21-inch gas walk-behind mower with a 144cc single-cylinder engine and a push (non-self-propelled) drive. It cuts three ways — bag, mulch or side discharge — and the deck adjusts across six heights from 1.5 to 3.9 inches. At 68.3 lbs it is light enough to maneuver but heavy enough to feel planted on bumps and slopes. Its best new price is $299.99 at Best Buy as of November 5, 2026, with two stores listing it new.

Questions and answers

Is the Amerisun AM8721P self-propelled?
No. It is a push mower, so you supply the forward force. That is fine on flat ground but tiring on slopes.
What cutting heights does it offer?
Six positions from 1.5 inches to 3.9 inches. The range covers a short summer cut and a taller cut for dry or uneven grass.
Can it bag, mulch and side discharge?
Yes, all three. You switch between the bag, the mulch plug and the side-discharge chute depending on the season and how you want the clippings handled.
How big a yard will it handle?
It is aimed at small to medium yards. The 21-inch deck and 144cc engine are sized for that, not for large acreage.
Is $299.99 a good price?
That is the best new price across the two stores listing it as of November 5, 2026. Check the price history on this page to see whether it has sold lower.
Does the handle fold for storage?
Yes. The handle folds so the mower can be stashed in a garage or shed with limited space.

At Best Buy, for $299.99, as of our latest check.
