Our take on the Amishwerks 10x10 L-Shaped Kitchen Cabinet Layout

This is a full 10x10 L-shaped kitchen cabinet package from Amishwerks, built in solid hickory with a rustic Shaker door and a partial-overlay frame. Doors and drawers use soft-close hardware, and the wood ships unfinished so you can stain or paint it to match your kitchen. It is a layout kit rather than a single cabinet, so the box covers a standard L-shaped run for a small to mid-size kitchen. No current store price was provided, so check the price history before buying.

Remodelers fitting a compact L-shaped kitchen
Buyers who want solid hickory over particleboard

Questions and answers

Is this cabinet set worth it compared to big-box stock cabinets?
Solid hickory with soft-close hardware generally outlasts particleboard stock cabinets, but you pay in finishing labor. Compare the kit price against assembled hickory cabinets plus the cost of stain and sealer before deciding.
What do I need to finish unfinished hickory cabinets?
Plan on light sanding, a stain or dye of your choice, and a topcoat such as polyurethane or a hardwax oil. Hickory takes stain unevenly, so test on a spare door or the back of a panel first.
Does the 10x10 layout fit my kitchen?
A 10x10 layout assumes two 10-foot walls meeting at a corner. Measure your actual wall runs and account for appliances, windows and door swings before ordering, since the kit is a fixed configuration.
Are the drawers and doors really soft-close?
Yes, the listing specifies soft-close hinges and drawer glides. Check that the glides are full-extension if you want full access to deep drawers.
What is included in the box?
The kit is sold as a complete L-shaped layout, so it should include the cabinet boxes, doors, drawers and hardware for that configuration. Confirm the exact cabinet list and whether toe kick and filler strips are included before ordering.
When is the best time to buy?
Cabinet pricing tends to dip during kitchen and remodeling sales events and around major holiday promotions. Watch the price history on this page and buy when it sits near its recent low.
