Is 16GB RAM worth it over the 8GB model?

Yes for heavy multitasking, many browser tabs, photo editing or running virtual machines. For basic web, email and video, 8GB is usually enough and costs less.

Is 256GB of storage enough?

It is workable if you stream media and keep large files in the cloud, but it fills fast with photos, video projects or games. Storage cannot be upgraded later, so buy more up front if you are unsure.

How does it compare with the M1 Air?

The M2 model has a larger 13.6-inch screen, a sharper webcam, MagSafe charging and a newer design. The M1 Air is cheaper and still capable, so it is the better value for light users.

How long does the battery last?

Apple rates it at up to 18 hours. Most owners get a full workday of mixed browsing, video and office apps on one charge.

The laptop, a USB-C to MagSafe 3 charging cable and a 35W dual USB-C power adapter. No mouse or case is included.

Prices drop most during back-to-school season, Black Friday and Cyber Monday, and when a new Air generation launches. Check the price history before buying.

Our take on the Apple MacBook Air M2 13-inch 16GB RAM 256GB SSD

The MacBook Air M2 13.6-inch is Apple's fanless laptop with the M2 chip, a 2560 x 1664 Liquid Retina display, MagSafe charging and a 1080p webcam, all in a 2.7 lb body. This configuration pairs 16GB of unified memory with a 256GB SSD, a step up from the base 8GB model for people who keep many browser tabs and apps open. Apple rates battery life at up to 18 hours. It is a strong pick at a discount, but check the current price against its recent range before buying, since Air prices swing often around sales events.
