The Arlo Essential XL is a wireless outdoor 1080p HD camera built around an extra-large battery Arlo says lasts about four times longer than the standard Essential. It adds color night vision, noise-canceling two-way audio, an integrated siren and dual-band Wi-Fi, and it works with Alexa, Google Home, SmartThings and IFTTT. The catch is the subscription: a one-month Arlo Secure trial is included, but 60-day cloud storage and AI detections like people, vehicle, package and animal alerts need a paid plan after that. At $38.97 at Walmart as of November 7, 2026, it is far below what this camera has typically sold for, so it is a strong buy if you accept the plan cost.
