Our take on the Ashley Greystone II 7-Pc. Dining Set (Rectangular Table & 6 Chairs)

The Ashley Greystone II 7-Pc. Dining Set pairs a rectangular rubberwood-and-acacia-veneer table with six upholstered side chairs. The table runs 70 inches closed and extends to 88 inches with its leaf, seating up to eight, and stands 30 inches tall at dining height. It is a large, formal-looking set rather than a compact one. The best new price is $1,649 at Macy's as of November 3, 2026, with only one store pricing it new, so there is no meaningful recent range to compare against.

Best forHouseholds that host eight or more at mealsBuyers wanting a matching table-and-six-chairs set in one purchaseFormal or semi-formal dining roomsPeople who want a wood table with upholstered seating
Pros
  • Seats six as sold and up to eight with the included leaf
  • Extends from 70 to 88 inches for holiday and large-group meals
  • Rubberwood solids with acacia veneer top for a wood look at a mid price
  • Upholstered side chairs are more comfortable than bare wood seats
  • Rectangular 40-inch-wide top fits standard dining rooms
Cons
  • Only one store prices it new, so price competition is limited
  • Mixed color naming (grey, brown ash, gray wood) makes finish matching hard
  • Veneer top needs care with heat and moisture; solid wood it is not
  • Upholstered seats stain and are harder to clean than wood
  • Heavy seven-piece set that is awkward to move and assemble

Questions and answers

Is the Ashley Greystone II dining set worth it?
It is a reasonable buy if you need seating for eight and want a matching set in one purchase. At $1,649 at Macy's as of November 3, 2026, it sits in mid-range furniture territory, and only one store prices it new, so shop around before committing.
How many people does it seat?
Six with the table at 70 inches, and up to eight once the included leaf brings it to 88 inches. The listing's piece count is inconsistent, but the set ships as a table, a leaf and six chairs.
Does the table come with a leaf?
Yes. The leaf is included and extends the table from 70 to 88 inches. Store it separately when not in use, since the table has no built-in leaf storage.
What is the table made of?
Rubberwood solids with an acacia veneer top and ash elements. The veneer gives the wood look at a lower price but needs coasters and trivets to avoid heat and water marks.
Will the chairs fit under the table?
Yes. The table is 30 inches high at standard dining height, and the six upholstered side chairs are sized to tuck under the 40-inch-wide top.
When is it cheapest?
Large furniture sets usually drop during Black Friday, Memorial Day and Labor Day sales. With only one store pricing it new as of November 3, 2026, watch that listing for markdowns rather than expecting cross-store competition.
Where is the Ashley Greystone II 7-Pc. Dining Set (Rectangular Table & 6 Chairs) cheapest?
At Macy's, for $1,649.00, as of our latest check.
What do buyers say about the Ashley Greystone II 7-Pc. Dining Set (Rectangular Table & 6 Chairs)?
Rated 3.4 out of 5 from 5 ratings.
