Is the Ashley Willowton dresser solid wood?

No. It is built from engineered wood (MDF and particleboard) with a decorative laminate finish. The whitewashed look is printed and laminated, not stained solid wood.

How much assembly does it need?

It ships flat and requires full assembly, including drawers, shelves and bun feet. Budget an hour or two and plan for two people given its 178 lb weight.

How much does it hold?

The top is rated for about 183 lbs, and the five drawers hold clothing and similar items. The open shelves suit folded items, baskets or display pieces.

Will it fit in a standard bedroom?

At 61 inches wide, 16 inches deep and 41 inches tall, it needs a wall about five feet wide. Measure doorways and stairs before delivery, since it is heavy even boxed.

Is it safe for a child's room?

It meets ASTM F 2057, a furniture safety standard. Still anchor it to the wall, as you should with any tall dresser in a youth room.

When is the best time to buy it?

Furniture prices dip during major holiday sales and when a collection is being discontinued. Compare the current price against its recent range before buying.
